Cute cat, my neighbor has 2 Siamese cats - strange animals...

A few years ago (during my wanderlust phase) I was in China in rural Guangdong.. and a few locals were telling me about their recipe for 'sweet and sour cat'

Not sure if they were pulling my leg - but I did see all kinds of animals in cages for sale in the local markets... quite sad...

Passed on the cat... but tried some snake (tasted like chicken)...

On the topic of China... the SSEC
Shanghai index:

If one looks at the weekly chart, it has been following the fib stuff pretty well (as most spec markets that have few fundamentals do)

If the yahoo historical data is correct:

All the weekly trend lines etc... point to two areas.

(1) Close to where we are now (a little lower actually) at:

2600 +- 100 points

OR

(2) Around 2200 +-100 points

All fib numbers and trendline converge around these 2 points.

There is also support around these two areas.

IMHO
I see two strategies:
(A) Wait for the trend to reverse with a solid close over 3000 - then go long with at least 1/2 position.

(B) Wait for the market to hit
a weekly trend line near one of the above 2 points - and scale in.

Of course if there is a government intervention - then all this means nothing - and it goes where someone tries to make it go...

One other interesting point..

Since the start of the decline of the Shanghia Index from the peak at 6100 --> it has actually been the S&P500 that has functioned as a leading indicator for a bounce in the Shanghai.

Previously it has always been the Shanghai Index that lead...

So any near term signs of relative strength in the Shanghai over the S&P500 - could be a tell that Shanghai is ready to move.

nice- it takes more than wanderlust to venture into rural china...you've probably seen more than most visitors to the PRC...

guandong and neighboring fujian-> among other things, both provinces are home to more families being supported by earnings abroad than any other...and thus also major centers of (politically sanctioned) criminal activity...what would the world economy come to without illegal activity...

i can see SSEC 2000 or 3000 as points of entry...needless to say, hoping to see the latter...
